seems uncalled for

Game 1 was our only game we dominated for large stretches. Makes sense since most of the regulars were our there.

Last two games not the case. One major thing is that Lindy ruffs defensive system is trash. He should be gone mid year or after this year is done

You guys sucked so bad this preseason your coach had to play your A lineup to win a game against mostly prospects to feel better about yourselves.

It’s never great to watch the team struggle like this, but as I said I expect a bunch of this the first couple months. I still think after New Years, we will be one of the better teams in the league. Just gotta take our lumps first while everything gets figured out.

Agreed it is but do you really think the team will turn it around and play a better defensive game in the next 2 weeks?? Most fans have very high expectations for this team, to stumble out of the gate will hurt.

Half of our team has less than 4 nhl seasons, we have 3 guys who have never played a game, and it’s not like Hajek has a ton of games played. We will have our lumps, but other nights will be fun.

People forget even with the Hawks dynasty with multiple HOF in their drafted core, took them a few years to get going and adding Hossa and getting lucky with Sharp. What we have here isn’t going to happen overnight as much as we want it too.

I dont understand why Ruff is still here. His Dallas teams were mostly bad on defense and the last few years he has been here, the team has been atrocious defensively. Why JD and Gorton want to keep him around and instill his porous defense on a young crop of prospects is killing me.

Probably not in 2 weeks but it’s reasonable to think it’ll take some time to come together. The talent is there but obviously not a lot is working well right now.

I'm not judging anything whatsoever yet

I have no idea what this team will look like with it's full squad, but I think the last few exhibition games will start to show it

There was a blog about what the expectations were for this year and almost everyone had them in the 80 point range. Thats not enough to get into the playoffs

Well said. Just enjoy the young talent, they’ll struggle sure, but a few may surprise as well.

I’ve said since this “rebuild” started, and this is no knock on him, but when the team clears Hank’s 8 million dollar contract, the rebuild and what they do with that money, will signifythe end of it That’s not to say that won’t be fun to watch most nights, but by then they’ll pretty much know what they have and don’t have going forward.

Look maybe Ruff is a bad coach but this is DQ system. Maybe Ruff can’t teach what DQ wants but to say it on Ruff is only part correct

Agreed, but he is the one charged to over see the defense and penalty kill. I am willing to give him a partial break and see how the pairs mesh once the season starts. But his leash is small based on past performance.
